“It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not.”
-André Gide
Pretending, the most awful word that ever used. Actually it brings shame and scandal to the people who uses it. Why should you take someone’s else personality or character and use it as it is yours whereas it is not. Why should we lie about things that are not actually in us. If you like something in someone else, something in his personality. Try to improve yourself to be like him, it’s something that we shouldn’t be ashamed of. But what we should be deeply ashamed of is to pretend that you are SOMETHING whereas you are totally SOMETHING ELSE.
Actually what makes any kind of relationship fail and never work out is PRETENDING and LYING to get our partner’s attraction. We don’t realize that sooner or later he/she will know what we really are. Every single lie in the history has its time to be revealed. So why should we start it from the beginning. And once we found out that our partner is pretending or lying, we would quickly break up and end the relationship RIGHT?!. Yes, you would break up with your partner if you found out that he/she is lying or cheating.
If you wanted to be truly loved, NEVER pretend or put a mask that is not originally yours. If you want to change something in your personality, do it. But don’t pretend that you don’t even have it until you get rid of it. We all deserve to be loved for who we really are, for our own personality. Cause sooner or later the makeup you used to wear will flake. And once it does, the people who used to love you will hate you more than they loved you in the past. Nobody is loved by everybody, be who you really are and you will find many people love you for who you are not for being someone else.
